Encrypt PDF with AES-256 or RC4 password protection and document permission flags 100% in your browser.
Files are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Upload the document you want to secure.
Enter a strong password and choose whether to restrict printing, copying, or modifications.
Export the secured PDF protected by AES-256 encryption.
All PDF processing is executed locally in your browser memory via WebAssembly and Web Workers. Your files are never uploaded to any remote server.
AES-256 is a standard, well-regarded cipher, and FileMelo writes a genuine AES-256 encryption dictionary rather than falling back to the older RC4. The practical strength is your password: a short or guessable one can be brute-forced whatever the cipher.
Remove password protection from an encrypted PDF locally. AES-256 documents are decrypted in place and keep their text; older encryption falls back to page images.
Redact confidential text, SSNs, credit cards and emails. Covered text is deleted from the PDF content streams and the export is verified, with zero server uploads.
Fill AcroForm fields and flatten interactive inputs into immutable, non-editable vector graphics. Prevents tampering before distribution.
Inspect, modify, or strip PDF metadata fields (Author, Title, Creator) 100% inside your browser. Protect privacy before sharing.
